TRIALS: Gale Digital Collections

We now have trial access to 3 Digital Collections from Gale. They are:

The Making of the Modern World: The Goldsmiths'-Kress Library of Economic Literature 1450-1850:
The Making of the Modern World offers researchers new ways to understand the emergence of modern economics and other social sciences. It's the most comprehensive collection in existence for researching the literature of economics from this period. This unrivalled online library offers instant access to the theories, practices, and consequences of economic and business activity in the West, from the last half of the 15th century to the mid-19th century. It combines the strengths of two pre-eminent collections — the Goldsmiths' Library of Economic Literature at the University of London Library and the Kress Collection of Business and Economics at the Harvard Business School — along with supplementary materials from the Seligman Collection in the Butler Library at Columbia University and from the libraries of Yale University.

TRIAL: AP Image Database


AP Images is a research tool that gives you unlimited access to photos, audio clips, graphics and text articles of the Associated Press.

Some of what you can experience on AP Images:


  • Photos - There are more than 5.5 million photographs from 1825 to today (up to the minute), with about 3,000 new photos added every day.

  • Graphics - There are more than 180,000 graphics, including maps, timelines, logos and graphs.

  • Audio - Over 4,500 hours of audio clips dating from as far back as the 1920s, including hourly newscast updated 24/7.

  • Text - In excess of 2.2 million full primary source articles which can be explored via highlighted search terms as they appear in the body of the story.

TRIALS: Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law (MPEPIL), Oxford Reports on International Law (ORIL), & Oxford International Encyclopedia

We now have trial access to, the Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law (MPEPIL), Oxford Reports on International Law (ORIL), & Oxford International Encyclopedia of Legal History from the College of Law Library. All trials are available via IP registration so no usernames/passwords are required.

The Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law (MPEPIL), published in partnership with the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law is a fully revised online edition of the Encyclopedia of Public International Law published in print between 1991 and 2001 under the general editorship of Rudolf Bernhardt. This online resource includes more than 700 new topics, not covered in the previous print edition, on international organizations and international co-operation as well as coverage of topical issues such as Piracy, Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, and the trial. Articles reflect modern developments with increased coverage of international criminal law, international dispute settlement, trade law and environmental law.
